Basic abdominal ultrasound

A light meal will be served between the two courses from 16:00 to 17:00
Mastering the basic abdominal ultrasound examination is an essential skill for the small animal practitioner. Essential topics and principles will be covered during an hour-long demonstration on a live dog. This will be followed by a two hour session during which the lessons will be reinforced, with all participants practicing the demonstrated techniques and watching colleagues practice the techniques on live dogs.

Basic echocardiography

After this course the practitioner will be able to assess basic heart function and doppler flows with the aid of an ultrasound machine. Views and parameters will be explained and demonstrated by the instructor during an hour long session on a live dog. This will be followed by a two hour opportunity to practice your newly acquired echocardiographic skills on live dogs.
